Best Neurologist in Cox's Bazar - Book Appointment

I Walk the Veranda Till My Feet Settle

I am fifty-five, and my nights have a routine I never chose. An hour or so after I lie down, both feet start to burn and prickle, as if they have fallen asleep and cannot wake. Sitting up helps a little. Walking helps more. So most nights I end up on the veranda, pacing in the dark until the burning fades enough to try sleep again.

A neighbour finally asked why I looked so tired, and the word neurologist came up. From what I understand, the first visit is a conversation before anything else. The specialist will ask when the burning started, which nights it comes, and what it stops me doing. Any earlier reports I have will be read first. Leg strength gets checked, and so does the way I place my feet when I walk. Nothing gets decided in a hurry. If this turns out to belong to a different kind of doctor, I would rather hear that plainly than keep guessing.

The Signs That End the Waiting

Burning feet move slowly, and slow trouble can be booked in like anything else. Sudden trouble cannot. If half of me went weak all at once, face included, I would not sit at home weighing it up. That is a hospital matter, or my regular doctor, on the same day it happens.

The same holds if my speech suddenly came out strange or slurred, or a headache arrived worse than any I have known. Shaking that does not stop, or starts again after stopping, belongs on that list. So does sight suddenly going in one eye or both, and confusion from nowhere. My wife knows the list too. A man in that state may not be able to act on it himself.

My Other Tablets Are Not Mine to Move

I take tablets every day that another doctor set for me long before my feet started this. They are not part of the burning-feet question, and I will not shift them around while I wait. A quiet week does not mean a dose is mine to trim, and a bad night does not mean I add one.

Everything stays exactly the way it was prescribed, at the hours it was prescribed. If some change is ever right, the doctor who wrote that prescription makes it, after seeing me and my reports. The neurologist will get the full list from me.

Some Problems Belong to a Different List

Not every trouble that brings a man to a doctor sits with a neurologist. A cut that needs stitching, a swelling that needs hands-on attention of another sort, those belong to other doctors entirely. Should something of that kind come up in our house, there is a list for that too. The general surgeon listings for Cox's Bazar sit in the same directory, ready to look through. A second list costs nothing to read through.

Questions From My Side of the Veranda

My feet only burn at night. Is that really a reason to see someone?

Yes. A pattern returning night after night is information, even if your days feel normal.

What should I write down before the appointment?

Which nights it comes, how long it lasts, and what settles it. Walking, in my case. Add any reports you have.

Will the specialist find the reason at the first visit?

Maybe not, and I have made peace with that. The story and the examination come first, and reports may be arranged before any firm word.

Lying flat makes it worse. Are small details like that worth telling?

They are exactly what the visit is for. Position, hour, what eases it: these details are the pattern.

My neighbour takes a tablet for the same burning. Can I try his?

No. His tablets were set for his body, by his doctor. Borrowed medicine is a risk dressed as a shortcut.

A sudden change, not the burning: when do I go to hospital today?

If weakness hits one side of your body or face, speech turns strange, sight goes, or shaking will not stop, do not wait. Hospital, or your regular doctor, the same day.
