Prof. Dr. B.A.K Azad

Prof. Dr. B.A.K. Azad is one of the most renowned and accomplished dentists in Bangladesh. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Dhaka Dental College in 1984, followed by a Diploma in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Dhaka in 1988. He further advanced his qualifications by earning an MCPS from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons and later completed an MDS in Prosthetic Dentistry from the University of London in 1998.
Dr. Azad is also a Fellow of the International College of Prosthodontists (FICP), USA. He began his professional journey by joining the Bangladesh Civil Service (Health Cadre) in 1985 and went on to serve at various levels. He eventually became Professor and Head of the Orthodontics Department at Dhaka Dental College and Hospital.
He also completed a postgraduate traineeship at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital in London. Dr. Azad has served as the Principal of Dhaka Dental College—the only government dental college in the country—and as Director (Dental) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Currently, he is serving as a Focal Point (Consultant) at the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing his expertise on a global platform.
