Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC), established in 1968, is a government medical institution located in Barisal, Bangladesh. It operates as a constituent college under the University of Dhaka.
SBMC offers the MBBS degree and provides comprehensive professional training and medical research opportunities through its 1,000-bed teaching hospital. Notably, MBBS degrees awarded from October 1984 onward are recognized by the General Medical Council (GMC) of the United Kingdom for overseas registration eligibility.
The college spans approximately 81.545 acres and houses extensive campus facilities, including student dormitories, a nursing institute, a nurses’ training center, staff nurse accommodations, and faculty residences.
