Queen's Hospital in Romford is a large NHS teaching hospital in North East London, run by Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Opened in 2006 on the site of the former Oldchurch Park, it replaced the old Oldchurch and Harold Wood hospitals and today serves the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge, with specialist neurosciences services for the whole of Essex. The hospital hosts a regional Neurosciences Centre, a Radiotherapy Centre and a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. It is one of the busiest maternity services in London, delivering over 8,000 babies a year, and its emergency department is among the busiest in the capital. Services include cardiac care, general and specialist surgery, children's services, diagnostic imaging (MRI and CT), cancer care and an intensive care unit.
