APTT

Test Details & Description

The Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) test is a blood test that measures the time it takes for your blood to clot. It is commonly used to evaluate the effectiveness of blood-thinning medications and to assess the function of certain clotting factors in your blood. During the test, a sample of your blood is drawn and mixed with specific substances to trigger the clotting process, and the time taken for a clot to form is recorded.
