Video Endoscopic Varicial Band Ligation (M)

Video Endoscopic Variceal Band Ligation (M) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat enlarged veins, or varices, in the esophagus or stomach that can bleed due to conditions like liver cirrhosis. During the procedure, a thin, flexible tube with a camera is inserted through the mouth to visualize the varices, and small rubber bands are placed around them to constrict and prevent bleeding. This technique is typically performed in a hospital setting and is aimed at reducing the risk of serious complications associated with variceal hemorrhage.
