The PTC, or Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography, is a diagnostic procedure used to visualize the bile ducts in the liver. During this test, a thin needle is inserted through the skin into the liver, and a contrast dye is injected to help highlight any obstructions or abnormalities in the bile ducts on imaging scans. This procedure is often performed to investigate conditions such as bile duct stones, strictures, or tumors.
