An MRI of the left internal auditory canal (IAC) is a non-invasive imaging test that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed pictures of the structures within the left ear and surrounding areas. This test is often used to evaluate conditions affecting hearing and balance, such as tumors or abnormalities in the auditory nerve. During the procedure, you will lie on a table that slides into a large cylindrical machine, and it is important to remain still while the images are being captured.
