ERCP & Papilotomy

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a diagnostic procedure that uses an endoscope to visualize the bile and pancreatic ducts, allowing for the identification of blockages or abnormalities. Papilotomy is a technique performed during ERCP that involves making a small incision in the ampulla, the area where the bile duct and pancreatic duct open into the small intestine, to facilitate the removal of stones or to improve drainage. Together, these procedures help diagnose and treat conditions affecting the bile and pancreatic systems.
