Kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka
Kurmitola General Hospital’s construction began in 2004 and was completed in 2011. It was officially inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Hasina, the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, on 13 May 2012. The hospital started its outdoor services on 12 November 2012 and indoor services on 16 June 2013.
The hospital’s main objectives are to provide medical treatment to all citizens of the country, offer emergency and life-saving care to road traffic accident victims from the surrounding area, and provide “on-the-job training” to internees. It also offers practical training to cadets of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI). Additionally, Kurmitola General Hospital serves as a teaching hospital for AFMC.
