A charitable fund called “Sadaqah Tahbil” was established on July 4, 1983, shortly after the inception of Islami Bank on March 30, 1983. This was in line with the decision of the Bank’s Board of Directors and pursuant to clause 104 of its Memorandum and Articles of Association. Over time, as the scope of its activities expanded, Sadaqah Tahbil was renamed “Islami Bank Foundation” on May 20, 1991. Since then, the Islami Bank Foundation has operated as a subsidiary of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, maintaining separate accounts and administration. The foundation is officially registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh under registration number S-1214 (25) 1988, dated 25-06-88. It is also registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the registration number 668, dated 24-11-92.
