Faridpur Medical College & Hospital

Faridpur Medical College & Hospital is a public tertiary hospital in West Khabaspur, Faridpur. The Government of Bangladesh established the college in 1992 by upgrading the Medical Assistant Training School at Court Compound, and moved it to a new campus at West Khabashpur in 2017. The college is affiliated with the University of Dhaka as a constituent college, and its MBBS degree is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. Students complete a five-year MBBS program followed by a compulsory one-year internship, with postgraduate training in Orthopedics (D-Ortho), Gynae & Obstetrics, FCPS, MD and MS. The attached hospital is the main tertiary referral center for Faridpur district and the surrounding southern region. In 2021 the institution was renamed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College; in October–November 2024 the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare restored the name Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
