Chattogram Diabetic General Hospital
The Chittagong Diabetic Association (CDA) is a non-profit, voluntary socio-medical organization and a branch of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, Dhaka. It is registered under the Ministry of Social Welfare through the Society’s Registration Act of 1860. Although CDA was established in 1975 under the guidance of National Professor Dr. Muhammed Ibrahim, with support from a group of dedicated social workers, physicians, and civil servants of Chittagong, it was formally inaugurated on 3rd May 1976 by Prof. Dr. Muhammed Ibrahim, who was then a cabinet member and consultant for Health and Family Planning for the Government of Bangladesh.
Initially, CDA began its temporary operations at the Kapas Gola Municipal Community Center in 1975. Over time, it shifted its services to Chittagong General Hospital, then to Mehedibag, and later to Enayet Bazar. In 1998, the Bangladesh Railway Department allocated 1 acre of land in Khulshi to CDA, enabling it to establish a permanent facility.
Currently, CDA is managed by a 27-member Executive Committee and has grown to become the second-largest diabetic hospital in Bangladesh.
