About Us
Bangladesh Railway Hospital is a 144-bed government hospital at C.R.B. Road, Chattogram, operated by Bangladesh Railway under the Ministry of Railways. Built in 1994, the hospital stands across CRB Road from the historic Central Railway Building (1897), the railway headquarters, in the green CRB hills area of the port city. Originally established for railway employees and their families, the hospital opened its outdoor (OPD) services to the general public in April 2025. Railway staff and their families receive treatment free of charge, while general patients pay a nominal outdoor fee. Around 150 patients visit the outdoor department daily, while indoor services remain limited. In 2025 the hospital was merged with the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital and placed under joint management of the Health Services Division and Bangladesh Railway, operating as Chattogram Railway General Hospital. Bangladesh Railway also runs hospitals in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Pakshi, Lalmonirhat, and Saidpur.
