About Us
Overview
Bangladesh ENT Hospital Ltd is a specialised hospital for ear, nose, throat and head-neck care at Navana Newbury Place (3rd floor), 4/1-A Sobhanbag, Mirpur Road, Dhaka-1207. The hospital's work is limited to ENT and head-neck conditions. It does not run general medical or surgical departments for other specialties.
The institution began in 1997 as Dhaka ENT Hospital and later took its present name in its own premises. The hospital combines outpatient clinics, operation theatres, inpatient wards and diagnostic support on one floor-level premises. Patients attend from Dhanmondi and across Dhaka for this specialised care.
Services
Four operation theatres handle ear microsurgery, endoscopic surgery and head-neck operations, including surgery for head-neck cancers. Diode and carbon dioxide laser equipment is used in suitable ENT procedures. Post-operative beds with ventilator support and intensive care facilities look after patients after major operations.
Separate general wards for men and women admit patients who need inpatient ENT care. A round-the-clock emergency service receives ENT emergencies at any hour. A pharmacy department inside the hospital supplies medicines prescribed during treatment.
Special clinics are held for voice problems, tinnitus, vertigo and allergy conditions. Outpatient endoscopy and microscopy examinations support diagnosis during clinic visits. A Friday clinic treats poor patients at a nominal fee, and free hearing aids reach some underprivileged patients through the hospital's programmes.
Diagnostic Services
The hospital's laboratory provides pathology testing for its patients, and imaging covers X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI studies. ECG recording is also available within the hospital. These services support the ENT teams before and after operations.
The vertigo centre assesses balance disorders with video head impulse testing, VEMP and videonystagmography. Audiometry testing measures hearing levels, and hearing rehabilitation with hearing aid fitting is arranged at the hospital. A sleep study laboratory investigates obstructive sleep apnoea in referred patients.
Specialist Consultations
Outpatient consultations run from 9 AM to 11 PM every day except Friday. Consultants see patients with ear, nose and throat complaints, hearing loss, voice change and balance problems. Head-neck conditions, including tumours of the head and neck region, are assessed in these clinics.
Each clinic follows its scheduled days within the outpatient timetable. Patients should confirm the clinic day for their condition before travelling. Earlier reports, scans and hearing test results should be brought to the consultation.
Location and Access
The hospital occupies the third floor of Navana Newbury Place (3rd floor), 4/1-A Sobhanbag, Mirpur Road, Dhaka-1207. The building stands opposite Rapa Plaza, beside the Road 27 bus stand on Mirpur Road. Buses and rickshaws pass this point through the day.
Mirpur Road carries heavy traffic during office hours, so extra travel time is advisable. Emergency patients should come directly to the hospital entrance and ask for the emergency desk. Attendants can reach the premises from Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur and the Mirpur side of the city.
