Armed Forces Medical College, Dhaka
The medical education system in Bangladesh has been steadily advancing to align with the global developments in medical science. Recognizing the need for a dynamic, motivated, and dedicated group of young professionals to lead the health sector in the 21st century, the Bangladesh Armed Forces established the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). This initiative aims to respond effectively to the evolving landscape of medical education and technology worldwide.
The Army Medical Corps (AMC) plays a crucial role in preserving the operational strength of the Armed Forces by delivering quality healthcare in both wartime and peacetime. To sustain this mission, the AMC requires a continuous supply of competent doctors. However, it has been observed that graduates from conventional medical colleges often do not meet the unique demands of military service. In response, the government founded AFMC to produce military-oriented, high-quality medical graduates. These professionals are not only prepared for service in the Armed Forces but also contribute significantly to the national healthcare system as disciplined and skilled physicians.
